এই মামলার যুক্তিতর্ক উপস্থাপনে গত ২৪ সেপ্টেম্বর আইন অনুযায়ী আসামিদের সর্বোচ্চ যাবজ্জীবন কারাদণ্ডের আর্জি জানান। এ বিষয়ে ঢাকার মহানগর দায়রা জজ আদালতের অতিরিক্ত পাবলিক প্রসিকিউটর তাপস কুমার পাল বলেন, রাষ্ট্রপক্ষে সাক্ষ্যপ্রমাণ যথাযথভাবে উপস্থাপন করা হয়েছে। তাছাড়া আমরা আইনি যুক্তিগুলোও তুলে ধরেছি। তাই আসামিদের আইন অনুযায়ী সর্বোচ্চ যাবজ্জীবন কারাদণ্ডই হবে বলে আমরা পূর্ণ আশাবাদী।
